Established in 1995, Dar ul Muslimeen Orphanage began its journey with just four orphaned children and one room building, in Morogoro, Tanzania. Over the years, our organization has grown significantly and now provides care, education, and support to over 50 needy orphans aged 3 to 15 years living at the orphanage. We are a registered institution under the Trustee’s Incorporation Act and operate under a Children’s Home License in Tanzania.
We have a dedicated team of 14 live-in staff members. We’ve found that having staff live on-site helps create an atmosphere similar to an extended family, fostering strong bonds between the children and their caregivers. This close-knit environment encourages a culture of sharing and caring, which is central to our mission.
Children at the orphanage receive an education from nursery to primary school, typically completing it by age 14 at an English Medium Primary School. They then attend Wali ul Asr Seminary in Kibaha for ‘O’ and ‘A’ levels, returning to the orphanage during breaks. Graduates with strong results pursue college or university, while others opt for vocational training. With support, many excel, and by 2025, eight students have graduated in fields like journalism and nursing. Their success reflects dedication and opportunity.
We believe in uplifting not only the children in our care but also the surrounding community. Through various programs and partnerships, we extend our support to families and vulnerable individuals, fostering a network of care and resilience.
At the 6-acre plot of farm land, we have established the Fatima Zahra (A.S.) Mosque. The mosque is under the care of a dedicated Sheikh who also runs an Islamic learning center, Hauza, called Markaz Ahlul Bayt. This center follows a structured Islamic studies curriculum provided by the Bilal Muslim Mission of Dar es Salaam. This two-year program is specially designed for the underprivileged youth in Tanzania who have not had the opportunity to complete their primary education.

We are committed to continuously improving the lives of the children in our care and making a lasting impact on the community. As we look to the future, we have several ambitious plans aimed at expanding our facilities, enhancing educational opportunities, and creating a more sustainable environment:
